i know this subject is probably one of the most redundant topics ever but i can’t help but feel horrible for taylor swift. i was never really into country but after this year, the boyfriend exposed me to some of his favorites…and now i’m absolutely hooked! i think everyone is entitled to their own opinion when it comes to music but it takes a lot of years at tool academy for someone to snatch the mic from a teenager who’s accepting her first vma award.

yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinions like

1. how i want to gouge my ears off when i hear a lady gaga song because the lyrics are equivalent to that of a prostitute composing an anthem for vaginas…while on crack. (and that vma performace of hers with the blood/screeching/hanging…i’m usually open-minded but that was just crazy! think of all of the children (and men) she scarred with her shenanigans)

2. we can do without a tantrum-throwing toddler who didn’t get his afternoon nap. i really enjoy listening to samples from a great song followed by thug-like raps that are supposed to be clever….

well, i guess they must have been somewhat intelligent at some point to be making millions off of these epic songs

i don’t even know why i’m blogging about this. we should be enjoying the better things in life. for instance, ice cream. or ridiculously good italian cuisine. mmmm….

drinking my 10th dream machine of the month, while procrastinating to finish this last chapter, and reading more shel silverstein works

i’ll always remember the plethora of children’s books that kept me company during my lonely years in elementary school (i didn’t have any friends ). one of my absolute favorites was shel silverstein.

this is going to be semi-brief because i have an endless amount of reading to do but man, i haven’t updated in awhile.  i feel like there’s so much to blog about but i simply do not have enough time. here’s a quick overview of some key events towards the end of winter break. first thing’s first…

NEW YORK

it was an AMAZING experience. although i didn’t get to see inches of snow as i had hoped for…

- lodged at the W in time square and had my first celebrity sighting (ludacris).

- experienced the oh-so-wonderful 16 degree weather with ridonkulous wind chill.

- rode the dirty subway. it was fun!

- utilized public bathrooms that were constructed for people who don’t mind being confined to filthy, small spaces. not so fun!

- shopped around the soho district. kidrobot!

- ate lots of splendid food. joe’s shanghai soup dumplings, various asian restaurants, europa, chicken & rice stand (which btw is disgusting if you’re sober but REALLLLLLLLY good if you’re completely blitzed)

- quality time with my man, carol, randy, and NYSaxy@gmail.com

- missed the flight back home, crossed our fingers for available seating, and managed to have a fever at the airport. wut! wut!

the trip was marvelous. there was so much to look at. the environment was totally new to me (as well as the people) andddddd needless to say, i was freaking excited the entire time. i can’t wait to go back and actually do some touristy activities. this trip was exactly what i needed. thanks honey! best boyfriend in the entire world!!!! foseriously.

- chau & fahd’s holiday party (prior to xmas). great company, good game!

- dinner with kimmie at trulucks. i NEVER see this busy woman. lets change this kimmiehimmie anh nguyen.

- michelle came home! although i did not get to spend as much time as i wanted with the bff…we did manage to have dinner at least twice and had our traditional lady pow-wow with angel. i ♥ my bff’s.

- sammys! i havent been there in soooooo long. it was refreshing to rock out to 80s music.

- vivian’s bday. started out pretty chill but ended up being a barf fest. ugh…party bus + bar hopping = pulling over to the side of the road to vomit. not pretty.

errrr….i’m pretty scatterbrained right now, so i can’t quite recall any other events or anything but i had an awesome winter break. got to spend it with awesome people and started 09 with a big bang. i love 2009!

anticipated activities: midsummer nights dream, transferring over the rest of the belongings to his new place/more interior decorating, an overdue recreational day!, michelle, austin to see perlman in concert

this has been one of the most memorable decembers evar! with an A! i’ve been all smiles =) [excluding work..because retail during the holidays makes you want to kill yourself]. as the year comes to a closing..i have to say…this has been the best month for me this year. had some great memories, spent time with some great people. and i received the absolute BEST christmas gifts evaaaaaaar. case in point:

i so needed a new ipod. after my last one was stolen, i never had the time to replace it. argyle skin ftw.

what a great ending to a horrible year. gonna start 2009 with a bang in new york! it’ll be the first time that i will see snow and new york. excitement! i’m smiling right now! and using a whole lot of exclamation points!

i am FINALLY done with this semester. it was torturous. whew. this past month has been nothing but wonderful, despite all of the stress. =) i haven’t been this happy in soooooooooo long.

lots of eating out this week. i’m accumulating a new and improved list for 2009. i can now check off the oceanaire! it was fucking INCREDIBLE. holy shit, the oysters were so freaking good. i’m a die hard oyster fan. we also had 2 bottles of this great reisling and two different types of lobster. dessert consisted of this cake with meringue drenched with alcohol. it was pretty potent haha. please excuse the cursing….but there’s simply no other way to describe how good the seafood was. =P

we saw anjelah johnson last night at improv comedy. eh. she wasn’t too funny. the only thing that was worthwhile would probably be the nail salon bit but even then, it’s pretty played out. BORING. jo koy > anjelah johnson by far. i want to see charlie murphy in january.

ahhhh, so many things to be excited about! the holidays, reuniting with friends, spending quality time with everyone, and 2009! i can’t wait to start the new year. it’s going to be so much better than 2008, i know it.
