the better things in life

i know this subject is probably one of the most redundant topics ever but i can’t help but feel horrible for taylor swift. i was never really into country but after this year, the boyfriend exposed me to some of his favorites…and now i’m absolutely hooked! i think everyone is entitled to their own opinion when it comes to music but it takes a lot of years at tool academy for someone to snatch the mic from a teenager who’s accepting her first vma award.

yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinions like

1. how i want to gouge my ears off when i hear a lady gaga song because the lyrics are equivalent to that of a prostitute composing an anthem for vaginas…while on crack. (and that vma performace of hers with the blood/screeching/hanging…i’m usually open-minded but that was just crazy! think of all of the children (and men) she scarred with her shenanigans)

2. we can do without a tantrum-throwing toddler who didn’t get his afternoon nap. i really enjoy listening to samples from a great song followed by thug-like raps that are supposed to be clever….

well, i guess they must have been somewhat intelligent at some point to be making millions off of these epic songs

i don’t even know why i’m blogging about this. we should be enjoying the better things in life. for instance, ice cream. or ridiculously good italian cuisine. mmmm….

wheatus – teenage dirtbag

i’m so proud of myself. i’ve been trying to cut back on unnecessary expenditures (and spending in general) to save for my snowboarding trip as well as holiday gifts…and unlike most days, i resisted the urge to spend with complete ease! i tend to spend a lot on eating out and impulse buys. for instance, today..i was craving a chik-fil-a salad ($5.29 without tax) and saw a really awesome boondock saints tshirt from hot topic ($23). i resisted temptation and purchased neither. woohoo!

gotta keep this up for another couple of months =(

this week has been sheer madness. both school and my personal life have been robbing me of my much needed sleep. adjkfl;adjfkldajfkladjfkljkl. i am so behind on my piano piece as well.

i’ve been playing so much rock band within the last 2 days that my forearms [that's right! plural!] are so sore. i feel like i’ve been lifting weights. our band has a plane now! we’ve been playing so frequently..i’m not surprised if we unlock everything by the end of the week.

keeping myself busy is a really difficult task. rock band resolves everything.

nightmares and broken plants

oasis – the importance of being idle

i tried to make use of my time off yesterday by studying but i kept falling asleep. ike did minimal damage to our home and i’ve texted everyone to see if they are alive and well. phone towers are out but the internet lives! a bunch of our tress/shrubs/plants are all broken and laying dead on the cement. the big tree in the front of our house was stripped of all of its leaves.

yesterday sucked though! i fell asleep at least 5 different times and each time, i was awakened by a bad dream. the kind of dream thats seemingly realistic. it was just full of fighting, hurtful words, actions, etc. these bad dreams are becoming more prevalent! i hate it! adjkfljdaklfjdkalfjkdalfjlk

wat

i’m having a bad case of writer’s block as i’m attempting to start a paper. recap of today:

- went with my lovely friend lauren to chinatown for some cheap asian food. we’re making it into a weekly thing AND i’m starting a list of places i’m going to introduce to her, which includes restaurants, sammy’s, howl at the moon, etc. hopefully, we can tackle at least half of the list before the semester ends

- cpr class. the instructor, who’s probably 6′3″ and looks like he weighs about 300lbs., tried to get me to show the class how to do the heimlich. i felt really awkward trying to wrap my feeble arms around a man that looks like he could literally crush me with his finger. i think his pant leg could fit 5 of me.

- i get paid to stay at home all weekend! how great is that? too bad i have to spend it catching up on my reading.

you would think that i would have no use for markers while in nursing school. wrong! i had to throw this together for today. i like the expression i put on the nurse’s face. haha. yeah..i feel like i’m in middle school.

lauren’s sad because she has to wait for me to get out of piano before we can eat..or maybe she was constipated. i forget which.

we were playing around with an ancient nursing cap. did you know that they put the black horizontal line on those caps after florence nightingale passed?

i hope hurricane ike doesnt do much damage. everyone be safe!

 

so long, sweet summer

as the end of summer approaches, i continually count down the days until its finally september! i love the fall..because soon enough, its the holiday season. i love the holiday season. its always so joyful with the chipper christmas music and ornate decor. i really enjoy lounging near a fire with a book in hand and a mug full of hot chocolate..with a generous amount of marshmallows.

my first week of school has been anything but relaxing. theres been an extensive amount of reading and assignments..i’ve been so overwhelmed. although, im starting a new debussy piece. im quite excited about that. hopefully, i’ll be able to nail it by the time the recital rolls around. may i present to you…my current workspace

this was taken on tuesday…its much worse now =(

one thing to look forward to – my first snowboarding trip at the end of december! it’ll be the first time that i’ll be able to see snow that doesn’t melt away the next day.

ive been so busy, i havent even had time to resolve any of my personal problems..much less think about them. i suppose thats a very good thing. gets kind of lonely being so busy all the time.

ahh, i dont think i’ll even have time to play starcraft 2 when it comes out! =(
