being the most indecisive people in the world, thomas and i decided to make a list of a bunch of restaurants that we wanted to try in houston whenever we wanted to go out and eat…mainly to avoid this:
thomas: where do you want to eat?
me: i don’t know. where do you want to eat?
thomas: i don’t know….
i started one while he was in asia and attempted to put my OCD to good use by having the list in a very neat word/excel format…with symbols and everything. i got lazy…and stopped at asian restaurants. haha.
one of the places that we tried this past weekend was this small cafe called ‘brasil’ right next to one of our favorite places in houston (domys). lemme tell ya…this place is one of my favorite places to eat now. it’s got a really artsy/indie feel and the food is delicious! the music was great and the artwork on the walls were interesting to look at.
a twist on frito pie

goat cheese pizza with italian sausage

mm…carrot cake

we also made a trip to the top of the town center garage to take photos of his car after it was detailed. i liked this photo.

future purchases! excitement!!!!!!!

i can’t wait!
as long as i can remember…i’ve always despised valentines day.
i wasn’t exactly the social type in elementary, so when valentines rolled around…i was always dreading that moment when it was time to exchange those cheesy little vday cards that came in those slim boxes…you know, the cards with an endless assortment of popular animated characters. needless to say, i refused to participate..in school, that is. i still purchased those cheesy cards with the cheesy character …with the cheesy text..that said such things as “”Scooby dooby doo, I love you!” (ugh..i just cringed typing that)
as the years went by, my hatred for valentines alleviated somewhat. i had a core of friends that insisted on making a big deal out of valentines…so, i obliged. it didn’t really get any better in high school..i always either broke up with my boyfriend, had no boyfriend, or got broken up with right before valentines. so, when everyone was receiving those cheap carnations and balloons…i was simmering in my repulsion on love…or lack thereof.
i don’t think i’ve ever told my mom that i hated valentines..she is a HUGE fanatic of vday..valentines is as important to her as mother’s day..so, she never hesitated to surprise us with candy, cards, and a small gift. (i actually kind of enjoyed vday just because of her..just a little)
the following vdays to come consisted of continuous arguments with boyfriends, tears, etc. so, every year….i try to dodge valentines day. when i start to see the incoming valentine products in the store…i prepare myself for hiding. i usually pick up a shift at work..or seclude myself in my room. i know i’m crazy but i really do hate valentines. i don’t think i’ve ever really had a good valentines…(minus last year when i got completely wasted)
perhaps, it’s time to discontinue resenting the official mushy day of the year

or….maybe i could just pick up a shift from work…haha.
